I graduated from Cal Poly SLO in Spring 2026 and immediately jumped into my master’s Fall 2026. I’m currently pursuing a thesis on microgravity flame spread, attending full-time, and grading ME 552, ME 360, and ME 190! I’m also finishing up an internship at Jensen Hughes. In my free time, I love listening to music (especially metal), playing ukulele, singing, painting, hiking, camping, going off-roading, and anything else that involves the great outdoors. I’m excited to contribute to the FIAMMA Lab, learn the finer details of engineering topics, make some friends, and write an awesome thesis.

Mohamad Bayasi (M.S. student, Mech. Engin.)

Mohamad is a graduate student who is interested in energy and design and loves the outdoors. He spends his time training for half marathons, horse riding, and learning more about agriculture. 

Loren Halili, MPH

Loren is the regional coordinator for the California Fire Science Consortium – Central and Southern California subregion, where she supports knowledge exchange between researchers, practitioners, and communities to advance science-based wildfire resilience across the state. She brings a background in public health, with experience in program coordination, community engagement, and capacity building. In her free time, she enjoys hot yoga, cooking, and exploring new restaurants.
